Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was a schoolteacher and her mother was a stay-at-home mother. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. McCormick is always a fan of performing, dancing and putting on performances with puppets. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of 6. This led to an inquiry from talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her whether she wanted to be in show business. McCormick landed her first major work in 1964, as she acted in a commercial on television for Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year she starred in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial before being cast in The Wind It Up And It's Breaks in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected out of a crowd of over 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance to be the youngest of three towheaded daughters on the new TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. It lasted five years. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in the year 2008. In it she revealed that McCormick nearly lost her virginity on the set of the series during its fifth season to Barry Williams. In 2008, McCormick revealed in her book Here's the story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that during season five on the show, she was close to losing her virginity to Barry Williams. It would have happened she told me, but the timing was never right for us.
